Dandeli Education Society (DES) was established in 1963 with a noble vision of making quality higher education accessible to the youth of Dandeli and the surrounding rural areas of Uttara Kannada district. Since its inception, the Society has been dedicated to nurturing knowledge, character, and social responsibility while empowering generations of students through education.

Recognizing education as the foundation for individual growth and community development, the Society has continuously worked towards providing affordable, inclusive, and value-based education to students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Bangurnagar Arts, Science & Commerce College

One of the flagship institutions managed by the Society is Bangurnagar Arts, Science & Commerce College (BNDC), established in 1974.

The college offers undergraduate programmes in:

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
• Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)
• B.Sc. (Pulp & Paper Science)

Over the years, BNDC has become one of the leading institutions in the region, providing quality education through experienced faculty, modern laboratories, library resources, sports facilities, and student support services.

Industry–Academia Partnership

A unique strength of the Society is its long-standing association with West Coast Paper Mills Limited, Dandeli, which has significantly contributed to the growth of educational opportunities in the region.

This collaboration has particularly strengthened the B.Sc. (Pulp & Paper Science) programme, enabling students to gain industry-oriented knowledge and practical exposure.
