Bangurnagar Arts, Science and Commerce College, Dandeli is one of the premier educational institution in North Karnataka established in 1974 as an offshoot with a sense of social obligation of West Coast Paper Mills Ltd., Dandeli (largest Paper Mill in India). The college has served the cause of education in this forest with wildlife region for last four decades and more. A Unique distinction of the institution is being Industry–Academia interaction for mutual benefits, which can be exemplified by the fact of having a Unique UG course in Pulp and Paper Science which is producing required man power for Pulp and Paper Industry throughout the country. The college is one of the earliest colleges in Karnataka to be assessed by an external quality assurance agency, NAAC, even when the accreditation was purely voluntary. The college is accredited at 4 Star Level in the first assessment by NAAC. Subsequently it was reaccredited with B++ grade in the II cycle, B Grade with CGPA 2.79 in the III cycle and B+ Grade with CGPA 2.56 in the IV cycle.
